The Approved International Shipping Enterprise (AIS) Scheme encourages international shipowning and ship-operating companies to establish operations in Singapore.

Established international shipping companies with worldwide networks and a good track record can apply for the AIS status. An AIS will be exempted from tax on income from the operation of it's ships outside of Singapore. The incentive is granted for a period of 10 years.

To qualify, the applicant must:
• be a significant owner and/or operator of a fleet of ships;
• have a directly attributable business spending in Singapore.
