Mr Lam Yi Young, Chief Executive (CE), MPA receives the Ace Pro-enterprise award from
Mr Teo Ser Luck, Minister of State for Trade and Industry and Minister in charge of Entrepreneurship.
MPA came out tops in the ACE Awards for pro-enterprise agencies, which is based on the annual survey commissioned by the Action Community for Entrepreneurship (ACE) on the pro-enterprise orientation of regulatory agencies. This year’s survey assessed 26 government agencies by surveying the perceptions and expectations of businesses that had interacted with these agencies.

The MPA team developed and implemented an innovative use of cement mixed soil and geo-textile tubes for the reclamation of Pasir Panjang Terminal Phases 3 and 4. They were credited the distinguished Minister's Innovation Award.

The MPA team was recognised for the construction of mega structure (quay wall) using concrete box caissons.

To promote clean and green shipping in Singapore, the MPA team supported the Maritime Singapore Green Initiative that comprises the Green Ship Programme, Green Port Programme and Green Technology Programme to recognise and provide incentives to companies that adopt clean and green shipping practices over and above the minimum required by International Maritime Organization Conventions.

The MPA team implemented night signals for vessels crossing the Traffic Separation Scheme (TSS) and precautionary areas in the Singapore straits.

MPA was awarded the Minister for Home Affairs Award at the Home Team National Service Award Presentation Ceremony 2011. A total of 10 National Service personnel from the Singapore Police Force and Singapore Civil Defence Force and 66 companies received this year’s Home Team National Service Awards. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs Mr Teo Chee Hean, acknowledged the significant contributions and support of the NSmen and the employers, to the safety and security of Singapore at the award presentation ceremony.

The Port of Singapore won the "Best Seaport in Asia" award at the 25th Asian Freight and Supply Chain Awards (AFSCA) 2011 held in Singapore. This is the 23rd Time that the Port of Singapore has received the award.

The Norwegian Business Association (Singapore) presented an award to MPA during its annual Norwegian seafood dinner.
The award recognises MPA’s commitment and efforts to enhancing bilateral trade and business relations between Norway and Singapore.

Capt M Segar, Group Director (Hub Port), MPA, receives the Port of the Year award from IMO Secretary-General Mr Efthimios E. Mitropoulos.
The Port of Singapore received the ‘Port of the Year’ award at the International Seafarers’ Awards 2010 organised by the International Committee of Seafarers’ Welfare (ICSW). This award, jointly awarded to the Port of Barcelona and the Port of Singapore, is conferred to the port that has done the most for the provision and access to welfare services and facilities to seafarers.

MPA received the Gold Singapore HEALTH Award for 2010, having won the Silver award back in 2008.
The biennial Singapore HEALTH (Helping Employees Achieve Life-Time Health) Award is presented by the Health Promotion Board to give recognition to organisations with commendable Workplace Health Promotion programmes.

The MPA team behind the development of ‘Anchorage-view’: a real-time anchorage capacity, prediction and monitoring system. They were credited the distinguished Minister’s Innovation Award.
The team developed and implemented an innovative low-cost boardband system for maritime use that enables businesses to reduce operational cost, increase productivity and services through the adoption of automation and remote communications tools for the monitoring and tracking of assets and goods.
To improve shipyards’ productivity, the MPA team supported a project to devise a solution to facilitate business process flow management, project optimisation, and scheduling in the marine industry - particularly for shipyards based on the concept of Multi-Project Critical Chain management.
The MPA team was recognised for the environmental monitoring and management plan for the reclamation of Pasir Panjang terminal Phases 3 & 4.

MPA came up to the top three in the annual pro-enterprise survey by the Action Community for Entrepreneurship (ACE), which measures the business-friendly orientation of regulatory agencies. The seventh annual survey commissioned by ACE saw government agencies turn in the best score since the survey's inception.

MPA received the Bronze award at the 25th Community Chest Awards Presentation Ceremony held on 20 September 2010. The annual Community Chest Awards recognises individuals, companies and organisations for their support and contributions in the social service sector.

MPA was conferred as an 'Honorary Member' of the Minister for Defence Awards (MiDAs) League. The award attests to MPA's continued support for Total Defence in enabling National Service (NS) employees fulfill their NS obligations with peace of mind.

The Port of Singapore not only took home the 'Best Seaport in Asia' for the 22nd time, it also bagged the 'Best Green Service Provider - Seaport' award for the first time at the 24th Asian Freight and Supply Chain Awards (AFSCA) organised by Cargonews Asia, a leading transport publication.

MPA was awarded the Port Authority Award at the Seatrade Asia Awards 2010, which was held during the 5th Singapore Maritime Week. The Seatrade Asia Awards celebrates and rewards excellence and innovation in the maritime sector across the region. MPA was recognised for its contribution and commitment towards the development of the maritime sector, innovation and commitment to safety and quality, business enterprise and achievements, social and environmental responsibilities, as well as staff training and development initiatives.
Singapore Maritime Week 2008 was named Trade Conference of the Year at the inaugural Singapore Experience Awards 2009. The Award recognises trade conferences and the organiser that have demonstrated excellence in organising and delivering a quality event in terms of business excellence, strategic value and service excellence. Organised by the Singapore Tourism Board, the Singapore Experience Awards honours the best individuals and organisations with the most outstanding and integrated Singapore experiences in the Singapore tourism industry.

MPA clinched the top spot in the pro-enterprise index for the third year running. The index took into account areas such as compliance cost, review of rules, customer responsiveness, pro-enterprise orientation and transparency.

Mr Tay Yeow Min, Assistant Director, IMC Capability Department, MPA (extreme left) receives the May Day Model Partnership Award 2009 alongside SSA and the other partners, WDA and SISEU.
The May Day Model Partnership Award recognises institutions that went the extra mile to help workers ride through the tough times. MPA was recognised as one of the partners of the Singapore Shipping Association (SSA). The other partners were WDA (Workforce Development Agency) and SISEU (Singapore Industrial and Services Employees Union).

The team behind WISEPORT (Wireless broadband-access for SEaPORT) was credited the distinguished Minister’s Innovation Award.
The new Mobile WiMAX technology deployed under WISEPORT is the forefront of instituting broadband Internet within port waters for maritime businesses in Singapore.

As part of a Private Public Partnership (PPP) Initiative, MaritimeONE (Maritime Outreach Network) was awarded the Minister’s Innovation Award in recognition of the tripartite partnership comprising the maritime industry, institutes of higher learning (IHLs) and the government to promote better understanding of the maritime industry and the careers available.

BG (NS) Tay Lim Heng, Chief Executive, MPA (right) receives the Plaque of Commendation from Mr Lim Swee Say, Minister, Prime Minister’s Office, Singapore and Director, Singapore Labour Foundation.
The award is conferred on organisations that promote and support good industrial relations, workers’ workfare and welfare, union membership growth, workers’ training and skills upgrading, job re-creation programmes and other NTUC programmes and projects.
