" I get bored easily. Hence, when I stood at the crossroad trying to decide where my future lies more than one year ago, there was only one thing I was certain of: I wanted a future that is exciting, rewarding and out of the ordinary. I am glad to say that life as an MPA scholar has been nothing short of that.
Before leaving for London, I had an opportunity to intern at MPA’s legal department. That internship was an eye-opener on how legislations “safeguard”, figuratively, the continuous growth of Singapore’s maritime industry. During the course of the internship, I had the chance to attend a two-day seminar conducted by Joseph Tan Jude Benny on understanding the different aspects of the industry. Although I might no longer remember every single point made by the speakers of that seminar, it nevertheless left a lasting impression on me because it was through understanding the ways in which different sectors of the maritime industry interact that I realised how vast and self-contained the industry was. I was thrilled by the possibility of dabbling in various aspects of the industry, other than the legal sector. Knowing that there is so much to be learnt about the industry, I could not wait to get started. "
