THE AWAKENING
I thought that nothing could be more exhilarating than being a commando. Jumping off airplanes in parachutes and destroying targets were part of my NS training. But it was even more exciting after my ORD when I was offered the MPA Scholarship. This included a pre-study stint on board a container ship.

Rewarding Internships
While others settled for monotonous temporary jobs during university vacations, I did interesting internships at MPA and Neptune Orient Lines (NOL). While interning at NOL, it was all hands on deck from the outset and the experience enabled me to understand the shipping sector better. During my three-month internship with MPA, I was given the opportunity to visit various port terminals and MPA’s Port Operations Control Centre. These visits gave me insights into how technology was employed to ensure that the Singapore’s hub port was efficiently managed."
