At 1155hrs (Singapore time) on 5 February 2010, the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) received a distress call of a person overboard from Panama-registered freighter "Adinesia".
The missing person is a male crewmember of "Adinesia". The incident happened 6km south of Changi.
Search and rescue operation (SAR) is currently underway. Assets deployed include 2 MPA craft, 2 Police Coast Guard craft and 1 Republic of Singapore Navy vessel.
MPA has issued navigational broadcasts to vessels in the vicinity to keep clear of the SAR area and to report any sighting of the missing person.
