The MINT Fund programmes relevant to tertiary & research institutions (TRI) and students.

MPA has various programmes under its MINT Fund.

If you belong to any of these groups,

  • University students, looking for attachment to the maritime industry
  • Tertiary or research institutions (TRI), pursuing maritime R&D
  • Professors or research experts, participating in joint industry-university maritime R&D projects or programmes

then explore the following programmes under the MINT Fund and take advantage of these funding opportunities.

Maritime Industry Attachment Programme (MIAP)

Targeted at engineering, IT and science students from tertiary and research institutions, this attachment programme aims to immerse students in the maritime industry while increasing their awareness of the myriad of opportunities the industry has to offer.

See more details on the Maritime Industry Attachment Programme (MIAP).

Joint TRI and MPA R&D Programme

Under this programme, joint maritime-related R&D projects are co-funded by the tertiary & research institution (TRI) and MPA. Projects should be technologies or innovations that have potential to be developed into commercial products, systems or services.

See more details on the Joint TRI and MPA R&D Programme.

Maritime Technology Professorships (MTP)

The local universities involved in technological R&D are the National University of Singapore (NUS) and Nanyang Technological University (NTU).

The aim of the Professorships is to encourage R&D relevant to the maritime industry. This can be achieved by various means such as:

  • Support prominent visiting professors who will participate in joint industry-university maritime R&D projects or programmes.
  • Support initiatives to develop future maritime R&D programmes.
  • Visiting professors to conduct maritime workshops or seminars.
  • Develop future joint maritime R&D programmes.
