ACTIVITY: INDUSTRIAL ATTACHMENT
Scope
- Intern must be Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident
- Industrial attachment must be in a maritime-related business entity approved by the appropriate publicly-funded University, Polytechnic Authority or Institute of Technical Education - ITE (e.g. a body within the University/Polytechnic/ITE or the faculty of study in charge of internship/attachment)
- Industrial attachment must be well-structured and enable interns to gain knowledge and experience in maritime businesses relating to sectors covered under the Maritime Cluster Fund. It may be conducted in Singapore, overseas office or onboard ships

- Monthly top-up over and above any allowance from the businesses that they are attached to
How to Apply
- Students must apply through their relevant University/Polytechnic/ITE body in charge of interships and attachments
- Upon completion of the programme, an internship/project report must be submitted to the University/Polytechic/ITE
ACTIVITY: OVERSEAS ATTACHMENT
Scope
- Sponsoring companies or employers applying for funding support must be maritime-related entities registered or incorporated in Singapore. They must not be receiving any other form of financial assistance from another government body for the same attachment
- Sponsored trainee must be Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident
- Training attachment should be in the form of on-the-job-attachment to the overseas offices of the sponsoring companies or to the overseas offices of related business associates and clients or onboard ships
- The attachment must be well-structured and enable trainees to gain knowledge and experience in maritime businesses relating to sectors covered under the Maritime Cluster Fund
How Long
- Five working days to six months
How Much
- 50% of qualifying costs i.e. economy return airfare and subsistence allowance, subject to a cap
How to Apply
- Application form must reach the MCF Secretariat at least 30 days prior to commencement of attachment
Other Information
- Trainee will be required to serve the sponsoring company for a period equal to the duration of the attachment
ACTIVITY: MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATES
Scope
- Sponsoring companies or employers applying for funding support must be maritime-related entities registered or incorporated in Singapore. They must not be receiving any other form of financial assistance from another government body for the same programme
- Sponsored trainee must be Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident
- The Management Associates (MA) programme must be a comprehensive structured programme with specific milestones, incorporating job rotation across departments
- Trainee may be based in Singapore or overseas office during the duration of support

- Application form must reach the MCF Secretariat at least 30 days prior to commencement of programme
Other Information
- Trainee will be required to serve a one-year bond with the sponsoring company

APPROVAL AND REIMBURSEMENT OF EXPENSES
Approval is subjected to the fulfillment of all eligibility criteria. MPA reserves the right to reject any application in the event of failure from participants/businesses to comply or observe any of the eligibility criteria.
Funding will be disbursed on a reimbursement basis to sponsoring businesses upon completion of training programme and submission of all supporting documents within one month upon completion of training. Interns will receive the top-up allowance through their Universities/Polytechnics/ITE.
