Singapore Seaman Discharge Book

MPA issues the Singapore Seaman Discharge Book (SDB) for the purpose of logging the seaman's sea time to pursue professional qualifications in their career. It is not intended to be the primary document for purposes of personal identification and border control clearance.

It is only issued to the following personnel:

• Singapore Citizens
• Permanent Resident
• Foreign cadets pursuing their Certificate of Competencies with Singapore Maritime Academy (SMA) or Wavelink Maritime Institute (WMI) *Only valid for 5 years*

To apply for an SDB, please click on this link. Collection of the SDB will at MPA Office. There will also be a fee of S$18, payable via internet banking prior to collection.
