About Mr Binyah Kesselly
Mr Binyah Kesselly was appointed by President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf in March 2008, to serve as the 13th Commissioner of Maritime Affairs. He was tasked to transform the Bureau of Maritime Affairs into a 21st century corporation - one that operates with a renewed sense of vision, a high level of efficiency and a new strategic direction and purpose. That vision was realised in September 2010, when the Bureau of Maritime Affairs was transformed into the Liberia Maritime Authority.

Prior to joining the Liberia Maritime Authority, Mr Kesselly was the Director of Enterprise Improvement and Process Excellence at McNeil Consumer Healthcare, a subsidiary of the Johnson and Johnson (J & J) Family of Companies. Mr Kesselly is currently Commissioner and Chief Executive Officer, Liberia Maritime Authority and Chairman Board of Directors, Liberia Airport Authority, Republic of Liberia.

The Liberia Ship Registry is now second largest ship registry in the world, accounting for more than 10 per-cent of the world's fleet tonnage.

About the Distinguished Visitor Programme
Established in 1997, the Distinguished Visitor Programme aims to engage senior maritime personalities who are prime movers and key opinion makers in the international maritime community. The DVP focuses on establishing and boosting good and long lasting relations with these personalities and their organisations, as well as to strengthen bilateral maritime relations.
