Maritime Environmental Partnership
To raise awareness on Singapore’s commitment to develop a maritime industry that is not only competitive but also efficient, responsible and sustainable, the Maritime & Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) organises multiple marine environmental outreach programmes for the public.
Through the programmes, participants will understand the importance of protecting our marine environment, and at the same time, actively play a role in the protection efforts and contribute to Singapore’s objective of developing a bustling yet responsible and sustainable port city.
World Oceans Day
To commemorate World Oceans Day, MPA organises annual underwater clean-up activities and public outreach events in the month of June that highlight the importance of safeguarding marine biodiversity and the underwater marine environment.
Marine Clean-Up Day
Together with MPA’s existing marine environmental protection and safety promotion efforts, Marine Clean-Up Day is an annual outreach event in conjunction with the International Coastal Cleanup Singapore, with the aim of inculcating the importance of love and care for our coastal and marine environment. Participants collect marine debris found on our waters and comb our shores to pick up litter, contributing to efforts in keeping Singapore clean and sustainable.
