About the ASEAN Ports Association Meeting
Formed in 1974, the APA comprises regular and associate members. Regular members are national port authorities and/or country ports in which the government retains majority interest. Associate members are corporatised or privatised ports. These members (i) determine programmes of work and priorities, annual budgets and other affairs of the Association; (ii) elect the Chairperson and the Vice-Chairperson; and (iii) attend special meetings to discuss matters on proposals, recommendations or reports of the Working Committee.
The APA Meeting is held annually and the hosting is rotated among the nine member countries. Singapore last hosted the APA Meeting in 2009. Cambodia will be hosting the 2019 APA Meeting.
